MaryJane Mitchell has been designing for the Home Products Industry since 1982. Her whimsical, colorful designs have appeared on various products in most major retailers. Her personable style of design translates well in the United States and in European markets. She succeeds at designing for adults as well as children, and attributes this success to her positive outlook and abundant energy, which she inherits from her mother.
Her casual dinnerware pattern,“ Cherry Rooster”, sold out when it was first offered on the Home Shopping Network. It did equally well when it was featured again on HSN a month later. Her creative and lively designs have appeared in Pottery Barn, Sears, J.C Penney, and Sur La Table catalogs.
MaryJane’s designs and artwork for children have appeared on an assortment of products including bedding, wallpaper, furniture, and art for children’s walls. They have been featured in Country Living Magazine and Family Circle. Her watercolor rendition of Disney’s Classic Pooh for children’s bedding, “Pooh and His Honey Pots”, was a best seller for over eight years. Her products for LC Creations are a reflection of all of her experience along with her love of designing for children. She enjoys creating designs and characters that amuse and delight children of all ages.
She is currently realizing one of her greatest ambitions, which is to write and illustrate her own series of children’s books. These books feature positive messages that encourage a child to dream and strive to make our world a better place by being all that they can be. Her first project, a picture book for young children, will feature characters from her popular “Gingham Animals” collection.
MaryJane also takes inspiration from running and has been an avid runner for twenty-five years. She experiences some of her best brainstorming while running the trails behind her home in the San Gabriel Mountains of Los Angeles, California.
